Kilimanjaro Airport -> Arusha

After an hour’s drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will arrive at Hamerkop House. This beautiful private house is managed exclusively by Lemala Camps and Lodges and its located on a wildlife and golf estate, Kiligolf, situ- ated halfway between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha. Its a great place to start your Tanzanian adven- ture. Access to Tanzania’s only championship golf course means guests can enjoy a relaxing and incredibly scenic round under the shadow of both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. And not to forget many more activities withing the fa- cilities like horse riding, polo and others.

Activities & Excursions: Golf course, swimming pool, horse riding, polo, Serval wildlife and town tour

Arusha -> Tarangire National Park -> Nomad Kuro

After the first sunrise in Tanzania, you will have your breakfast and a small briefing from your tour guide will take place. Departing from Arusha City, you will drive west of Arusha for approximately 2 hours until you started your first game drive in Tarangire National Park.

Once you’ve entered Tarangire, you’ll begin your game drive across a rich vista of endless golden savannah that sur- rounds the Tarangire River. The river itself runs throughout the year and is a vital source of water for the animals of the region during the dry season. You’ll have the opportunity to see lions, leopards, cape buffalo, and a huge variety of an- telopes. If you’re particularly lucky, you might even see endangered animals such as the Greater Kudu or the Fringe-Eared Oryx.

A picnic lunch with a view of the river is a great way to take it all in, but you’ll have to keep on your toes as the local monkey population does its best to separate you from your lunch!

Set along the banks of the Tarangire River, Kuro provides a great vantage point to observe the local wildlife, as it passes through the park from the hills in the west to the swamps in the east. You can also watch as the animals negotiate the river line, running from north to south. There are loads of amazing views here!

After your day’s drive is done, you’ll retire at lemala Mpingo for the evening where a warm welcome awaits, fine dining and a bonfire to tell the tells of the African bush.

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire has its beauty that not many see. Some call it the small Serengeti, its idle for an introduction to a classic safari. The close encounters with the park’s large elephants, the iconic Baobab trees also known as upside down tree and the diversity of wildlife make it one of the best parks in the country for taking breath-taking photos or simply basking in the beauty of the world’s largest land mammals.

On this day your tour guide will be flexible with your itinerary. Get up early or have a sleep in and enjoy the wildlife around your camp, set off with a picnic lunch and spend all day out on a game drive or choose to return for a hot lunch at your camp.

After your Day activities you will return to your chosen accommodation for the night.

Activities & Excursions: Game Drive, Night Game Drive

Tarangire National Park -> Manyara National Park -> The Retreat

You’ll depart from Tarangire after breakfast for the approximately three-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Along the way you’ll pass bustling Masai villages and the vast, open plains that have become synonymous with images of Africa. You’ll enter Lake Manyara National Park. The park is truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa’s most well-known animals, with the tree-climb- ing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed.

Birdwatchers will find Lake Manyara is an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. Even the novice can expect to be amazed by large flamingo flocks, circling birds of prey, and the brightly coloured lilac breasted roller.

After your day’s drive is done, you’ll retire to your accommodation for the evening.

It’s a nearly four hour drive to the Serengeti park gates, but you will pass by one of our favorite stops of this itinerary, Olduvai Gorge Museum. Sometimes known as the Cradle of Mankind, the Olduvai Gorge Museum commemorates some of the oldest evidence of human habitation ever found. Here you can see some of the oldest fossil evidence in the world of human habitation.

From Olduvai Gorge Museum its then a quick drive to Nabi Gate (entry to Serengeti). Here you can have your lunch with your guide as he briefs.
