Itinerary Details

Necessary Items

The greater part of your trip you will be spent sitting, so your clothes should be comfortable and made from soft, natural fabrics with as little elastics, laces, belts or decorations (like huge buttons) as possible. Take into consideration that to see certain animals you will have to start your day early in the morning, and it may be cold outside, so you should not forget to pack some warm clothes. For example, in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area before and after sunset the temperature can fall to 0°C.

A list of recommended items

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Savannah quest safari representative will be waiting for you by the arrival terminal, ready to introduce themselves and help you with your languages. Once settled in the vehicle you will be slightly briefed of your destination and will be transferred straight to your luxury hotel.

After an early morning breakfast, you will depart Arusha from your accommodation and drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately two hours away. On the way you will pass bustling Maasai villages and the vast open plains that have become synonymous with images of Africa.

Often overlooked, Tarangire offers iconic safari scenery, from the large Baobab trees where elephants gather to escape the sun, to the Tarangire River lined with beautiful acacia trees. The Tarangire River is a vital source of water for the game there, and one of the few in the region that runs throughout all seasons making the park self-sustaining and frequently visited by the park’s large elephant population, zebras, and antelopes.

At around noon, you will head to one of the best picnic sites where you can have your lunch with the view of the river Tarangire. After your lunch break you will have the final game drive of the day while the animals are also resting thus giving you the best chances to see the tree climbing lions as they seek for the perfect spot to cool off and spot game.

Towards the evening you will start heading back to the entry gate to your exit and straight to your accommodation as the stuff eagerly waits for your arrival and host you.

We’ll take an early breakfast, as we’ve got a big day of exploration and adventure ahead of us!

We’ll begin the day with the scenic drive towards the Serengeti. Along the way we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to glimpse cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards in the dense undergrowth. It’s a nearly four hour drive to the Serengeti park gates, but you can choose to break up the drive with an optional activity, like a Maasai boma visit. After a delicious lunch at the Serengeti National Park picnic area, it’s time to explore the Serengeti itself. Witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and be amazed by the sheer number of animals that roam these grassy plains. Dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti National Park according to the standard and the type of accommodation requested from our options.

Activities & Excursions: Game drive, Maasai boma (Maasai Boma: You’ll have the opportunity to witness (and participate in) traditional Maasai dance, tour an authentic Maasai village, and even do a little souvenir shopping at the local market)

Today you can finally relax after the busy first days. This day you and your guide can customize your activities as per your liking. Go for a game drive early in the morning and be back for lunch or stay in and have an evening game drive or hang by the pool and soak in the Serengeti sun it is up to you.

Serengeti National Park is quite simply the most magnificent wildlife sanctuary in the world unparalleled in natural beauty and wilderness. It is the only remaining natural grazing ecosystem to be found on Earth. From vast, open plains casting idyllic, golden sunsets, to steamy riverbanks and towers of granite boulders, the Serengeti throbs with life in the endless rhythm of the Great Migration.

Activities & Excursions: Game drive, Walking Safari.

After breakfast, we get right on the road back towards the Ngorongoro Crater National Park. Our drive takes us back through the Serengeti via a different route, offering plenty of opportunities to spot the animals that eluded you the past two days. As far as the eye can see, you’ll spot thousands upon thousands of animals in herds; wildebeests and zebras migrating together, tall and graceful giraffes, jumping antelopes and gazelles, the powerful African elephant and the most respected group of animals: the predators.

You will have the chance to spot lean cheetahs and shy leopards, foraging hyenas, and last but not least, the king himself, the lion.

Home to over 720 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of the most sought-after safari destinations in the world. It’s a particularly good place to see the endangered black rhinoceros enjoying a lonely meal out on the grass plains, as well as a place to see large numbers of hippos enjoying the cool water.

After the thrills and excitement of the day, you will have a picnic lunch by the park’s famous hippo pool you will have your final game drive in Ngoro Ngoro and slowly start to ascending to the crater rim heading to your next accommodation in karatu.

Activities & Excursion: Game drive

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha. Everything you’ll see here is on a different scale. It is both compact (this is one of the narrowest parks in Africa) and epic (the Great Rift Escarpment towers over Lake Manyara’s western boundary). The park’s namesake is a shallow, Salt Lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of wading birds (including flamingos and over 500 other bird species). You may see baboon and elephant in the park’s thick evergreen forest and watch for the tree-climbing lions that have become famous throughout Africa.
